Areka Consulting is an independent consulting firm providing customized, end-to-end travel management advice and solutions to organizations worldwide. Our client base is located all across the globe and most of our clients are the fortune 500’s of the world. Our missions cover the following areas: strategizing the travel of our clients, helping corporates negotiate deals with suppliers (airlines, hotels, travel agencies, online booking tools), designing their travel policies, consolidating their travel data, and reporting it back to them.

Created in 2010 by four partners based in Paris and Sydney, our fast-growing company now has 30 consultants and has offices in France, The United States, England, Australia, Belgium, and Germany.

As a Data Engineer, you will be a part of the Data Solutions team composed of 5 people coming from very diverse backgrounds. The team’s goal is to make intelligent use of the very rich and massive business travel data that we have access to in order to solve complex questions. You will work alongside the Data Solutions Manager and you will be mainly tasked with managing, organizing and modeling, and performing quality checks (manual and automatic) of this data, while also keeping an eye out for trends that will impact business goals. You will communicate data trends to other stakeholders in the organization as well as to our clients and help businesses make intelligent use of the data they collect.

Your missions will be divided into two parts:

1. Data management and business intelligence:

- Manipulation and modeling of data to solve complex problems faced by our clients
- Implementation of ETL pipelines right from data collection to final target
- Creation of automated data quality check procedures
- Analysis, verification of the quality of the results of the other data engineers using the data quality check procedures that you have created
- Creation of dashboards containing interactive KPIs, using cutting edge BI tools
- Explanation and production of the results to internal as well as external stakeholders

2. Product maintenance and development:

- Implementation of new solutions for data management and development of tools on Excel, SQL, or other Business Intelligence and Data Science technologies
- Helping the Data Solutions team in the continuous improvement of the current ETL pipelines
- Creation and maintenance of documentation for the numerous data quality check procedures

Profil recherché

- You are currently pursuing a master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or computer science
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Python (majorly in pandas and seaborn), and SQL (joins and aggregations)
- You are familiar with at least one of the following Business Intelligence tools - Spotfire, QlikView, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Google data studio, etc.
- You have familiarity with at least one of the ETL tools - Azure data factory, Alteryx, Talend, Informatica, SSIS, etc.
- Previous experience or knowledge of Azure or Spotfire is a plus
- You have a good level of spoken and written English
- You are dynamic, curious, hardworking, and want to shape your own world by learning new things
