Context
Following the reorganisation of consolidation and controlling departments, Nexans is recruiting an alternance to support the teams, in particular between the closings.
Purpose
An apprentice position in Nexans Consolidation Department will bring expertise competencies while developing autonomy, management of projects & processes.
The position is a great opportunity to start a career in Auditing / Corporate Accounting and is all the more valuable as Consolidation is a highly rated expertise field.
Areas of responsibility
In charge of the relationship with the subsidiaries for certain yearly processes (anticipation, review and follow-up).
The preparation and review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements before their publication.
The analysis of the financial consolidated statements, thus providing useful data material upon which Nexans financial communication will be based.
The update of Nexans financial reference guidebook, in compliance with IFRS.
Support subsidiaries in the preparation of their financial reporting.
Expected results
Working in a highly motivating and rigorous environment with skilled people around you.
Being in charge of operational responsibilities within the team.
Exchanging daily in English and/or in Spanish with over 70 entities worldwide.
Familiarizing yourself with “Hyperion Financial Management”, Oracle consolidation software which is used for consolidation in many companies worldwide.
Developing your skills in consolidation and in IFRS.
Following up several steps of the closing process.
Interacting on a daily basis with the other members of the Finance Corporate Department at Nexans: cost controlling, financial communication, merger & acquisition, tax department…
Getting a better understanding of the support that Finance may provide to Management teams and the use of financial information in an industrial and international context.
Participating in projects involving the financial community of an international Group such as Nexans.
Position sizing
The Consolidation Department team is composed of 2 members full time; it sustains daily relationships with entities worldwide and takes part on a regular basis in projects involving other functional Directions of the Group.
The alternance, a full member of our team, will be in direct contact with Nexans international network.
Expected duration: 2 years, 1 year minimum.
Budget pending the salary grid of the school.
Profil recherché
Required skills and qualifications
Education: Bachelor or master in finance in progress.
A first experience in accounting / finance / audit during a previous internship – especially a prior experience in an audit firm – will be highlyappreciated.
Analytical skills and very good knowledge in accounting and finance.
Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Communication ability especially in French and in English for regular exchanges with entities. Spanish would be a plus.
Team spirit.
